A skate way to raise money
"I’m so proud of the way the stores got behind this challenge, giving up their time and energy to support me." Mark Vebrugge, Argos are manager
What we did
Area Manager, Mark Vebrugge, skated, rode and hitched lifts to support our charity partner, Teenage Cancer Trust.
He covered over 515 miles visiting all 35 stores in his patch in the South West.
In the two-day charity challenge, Mark had to take whatever means of transport had been arranged by the store he was visiting, and they were certainly imaginative – fire engines, army trucks, kayaks, quad bikes and even a police car – helping Mark raise £9,500 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Why we did it
This was a great opportunity for one of our area managers to engage all store managers and colleagues in raising funds for our national charity partner. It was a fun way to get involved in a collective fundraising activity and to develop relationships between colleagues.
How we did it
Stores were fully briefed on the event and how they could get involved. Fundraising targets were set and stores enjoyed the opportunity to come up with the most creative and amusing forms of transport.
